April 1: Today is a day off. It could have been a day for a nice spin to work out the legs but the weather continues to rain and be very cold. So I was chicken. Took the lunch time break to go into the town near the resort, Alcudia.

Turns out this is an ancient town with Roman roots (70 A.C.E.), rebuild with sturdy defensive walls and moat in the late 1200’s. Additional work in the 1400 hundreds. Today it is just a lovely old city. In fact, it is one of the most lovely I have ever been too. Beautifully preserved and lots of quaint alleys and cafes. Went to the local museum. Very disappointing. I am spoiled by museums that really have serious archeological excavations. This is basically a small room with some artifacts. Not really much and absolutely no context. A shame.
